New Jersey Outdoors Program

As a result of COVID-19, we are not able to offer overnight programs.

For updates on programs follow our Facebook page and subscribe to the Outdoors E-mail List.

The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife offers outdoor skills programs throughout the state that are designed to enable participants to learn about and enjoy a variety of outdoor pursuits, including fishing, shooting sports, hunting, birding, kayaking, hiking and more.

These beginner programs are geared toward women through Outdoor Women of New Jersey (OWNJ) workshops (though men can register as well) and toward families through Outdoor Families of New Jersey (OFNJ) workshops. Occasionally there will be New Jersey Outdoor Programs (NJOP) offered for both adult men and women.

Currently scheduled workshops are listed below.

November 14 OWNJ Intro To Upland
This workshop will introduce women to the sport of upland bird hunting and its equipment, techniques, and where to enjoy it. Experience an upland hunt for pheasants to take home for the table!
